Since 2010, STEPS for Kids has been providing quality therapy services for children and their families in Kendall County and the surrounding area. Conveniently located on Route 34 just west of Route 47 on the north side of Yorkville, our clinic is easily accessible from suburban and rural areas and serves clients from all over northern Illinois.
Our highly skilled staff specializes in meeting the developmental needs of children from birth through adolescence. Trained and knowledgeable about pediatrics, we provide comprehensive assessment and treatment that meets each child’s needs while addressing the concerns most important to the family. Services are always individualized, family centered and outcome oriented using best clinical practices to help each child reach their true potential.
We utilize a strengths based approach in working with children and families. Strengths based intervention focuses on the premise that each child is capable of performing well when provided with the right supports and assistance for skill development. Our therapists provide the “just right” challenge for each child, support parents with the type of training and education that are most relevant for them and advocate for children in the community with regard to understanding and accommodations that support the child.
Passionate about providing quality developmental services, STEPS for Kids takes pride in being a vital resource for the community. We strive to collaborate care with other service providers and work with community based services to support the child in all settings. We work with families to provide referrals to other agencies and to locate services needed.
STEPS for Kids provides advocacy and educational services in the community so as to increase awareness and understanding of children with special needs. Whether educating family members, healthcare professionals, educational staff or daycare providers, our staff is committed to helping other understand the needs of the children and families we serve.
